How to enroll in the English classes

<h1><strong>New Students</strong></h1>
<ul>
<li>Come to our main campus at Ridge Technical College in Winter Haven to register and ask all your questions.</li>
<li>Bring any form of identification with photo.</li>
<li>Personnel will schedule an appointment with the date and time for your placement CASAS test.</li>
<li>On the day of the test, bring $20 for the testing fee and $30 for the tuition fee.  Personal checks are <strong><u>NOT</u></strong> accepted.</li>
<li>Plan for 2-3 hours.</li>
<li>When you finish the placement test, you will receive a copy of your scores and the completed Admissions Pass.</li>
<li>Proceed to pay the tuition fee ($30).  The employee that will take the money will also give you a starting date.</li>

<h3>What is <strong>CASAS</strong>?</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>CASAS</strong> is the most widely used competency-based assessment system in the United States designed to assess the relevant real-world basic skills of adult learners. <strong>CASAS</strong> measures the basic skills and the English language and literacy skills needed to function effectively at work and in life.  For more than three decades, <strong>CASAS</strong>, a nonprofit organization, has strengthened the efforts of education and business and industry to transition people age 16 and older to postsecondary education and workplace success.  <strong>CASAS</strong> is used nationally and internationally and is validated by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor.  The primary focus of <strong>CASAS</strong> is adult education and workforce development — identifying the needs and providing the solutions.</li>
<li><strong>Basically, it is a placement test that would allow us determine your English skills level.</strong></li>

<h3>Is there a cost to take the CASAS test?</h3>
<ul>
<li>Yes, there is a $20.00 fee to take the test. Checks are <strong><u>NOT</u></strong> accepted. Please bring the <strong>EXACT</strong> amount.</li>

<h3>How long does it take to complete the CASAS?</h3>
<ul>
<li>It takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete the test.</li>
</ul>
<h3>How can I take the test?</h3>
<ul>
<li>You need to have submitted the enrollment form and completed the process. Then, you set a date and a time with the school personnel to take the test.  <strong><u>CASAS test is given by appointment only.</u></strong></li>
</ul>
<h3>What do I need to bring on the day I take the test?</h3>
<ul>
<li>Test fee of $20</li>
</ul>
<h3>What is <strong><u>NOT</u></strong> allowed during testing?</h3>
<ul>
<li>Children are <strong><u>NOT</u></strong> allowed in the testing room.</li>
<li>No electronic devices are permitted during testing (Examples: cell phones, Bluetooth headsets, beepers, CDs, DVDs, radios, iPods, etc.)  Possession of such devices may be cause for test invalidation.</li>
<li><strong><u>NO</u></strong> food or drinks are permitted in the testing room.</li>
